Alabama Three in Session
Alabama 3 popped in to play a few tunes a week back,
Any plan for an interview was quickly scrapped as to lads were bollixed after playing at Angelica Heustons birthday party the night before, but a cup of tea in and they were away with songs and pirate-ly stories of booze, drugs and womanising not fit for Saturday afternoon radio.
Lovely gents, mad as a bag of spiders and damn good music makers

The show kicked off with Jim Carroll - People Who Died because Jim Carroll who wrote the Basketball Diaries died last week. This tune was one of the most requested songs on radio when John Lennon died apparently, very punky, catchy and scarily morbid!
The Nextmen have just released their new album Join The Dots, they're playing in Kelly's Galway Sunday October 25th, this song reminds me of that Lou Vega tune! The Nextmen - So Many Girls
And Flight of The Conchords Season 2 is out, it's funny, but not as funny as Season 1, the songs just aren't as good, this one aside Flight Of The Conchords - Hurt Feelings The album is out in October

Super Extra Bonus Party
My thoughts on the top Irish bands around are constantly changing, Adebisi Shank are up there, as is the Mighty Stef but as of last Friday Super Extra Bonus Party definitely grabbed one of the spots. They played one of the best live show's I've seen in the Roisin Dubh in Galway all year, and I've seen quite a few Roisin Dubh shows this year!
Their new album is called Night Horses and features Cadence Weapon, R.S.A.G and May Kay from Fight Like Apes
This is the current single Comets and features indie pop twins Heathers who are also brilliant (www.myspace.com/heatherswhatsyourdamage)

Vampires = deadly choooons ... who'd have thought?!
I don't get Twilight
In general I don't like Vampires, not my thing to be honest
But as much as I'd love to ignore Twilight and everything to do with it the soundtrack to the new flick is really really good!
