new: Yuck, Gypsyblood, The Dodos, Oh Land, Okkervil River, Explosions In The Sky and Wild Beasts

Ok. A quick run through of what tracks have popped up over the past few days. I haven't had as much time of late as I've started a new job nigh on every hour there is in a day.

First off a video for one of the best tunes this year, from one of the better bands of late, the delectable Yuck. Such warm and pretty sounds.

Get Away by Yuck

Caught this one on Consequence of Sound earlier. Follow that link for the strange and interesting back story about this band Gypsyblood, for more music their debut is out April 12th on Sergeant House.

Gypsyblood - My R.K.O is M.I.A

The Dodos new album No Colour was a Hype Machine album of the week, which was started recently. On my first listen now and really liking it. Here it is in full.

The prospect of a new track from U.N.K.L.E is exciting enough without Nick Cave (!!) appearing on vocals. It's from the forthcoming Only The Lonely E.P. This tune is a beast.

Been meaning to blog about Oh Land for a while, but wanted to listen to the new album in full first. It's another Hype Machine album of the week, check it out here. Good listen indeed.

Okkervil River's Mermaid, the first track from their forthcoming album still has me in a daze of wonder ...and it's happening again. Uh oh. I Am Very Far is out May 10th on Jagjaguwar. I can't wait.

Okkervil River - Wake and Be Fine

Explosions in the Sky? Have you been listening to indie pop music? Has it tinted your usual brand of atmospheric post-rock? Well fucking A! It sounds beautiful! Take Care, Take Care, Take Care is out April 26th.

Explosions In The Sky - Trembling Hands

First taster from Wild Beasts imminent third release Smother, which will see the light of day on May 10th on Domino Records. Citing Fuck Buttons as an influence to this one has my ears perked. This track is instantly memorable, and furthers my belief that 2011 has a special something to it.
